Self Portrait #2

I decided I am going to try to take more self portraits and I posted one here last month. Here's #2. This is my self portrait as a Mom. Some days the kids and I look like this picture. Other days are happy and we have dance parties and wrestle and laugh. I would rather remember those days than the first, but there has to be bad to enjoy the good, right? Well, I am going to try to laugh more this year and this was one of those moments I just had to laugh at how upset my 1 year old was that I would not pick her up for the 1,000th time this day. Love my kids. They are my life and eat up my sanity daily but provide me with so much joy, love and kisses.

I was able to take pictures of my Sister in Law's family around Thanksgiving at a cool Train station in Ogden, UT. I know, it is a little late! My nephew sure tested me by having me climb up a big train after him to get a few shots (I am not one for heights!), but so glad I did because it was a cool view. It was fun to get some pics of their cute kids and family all together. Thanks guys!

I was so happy to be able to take pictures for this family. The Mom is my daughter's preschool teacher and the Dad is our Bishop at church and I taught their oldest daughter in one of my classes at church. They are a really great family!

When I took these pictures, I was one of about 5 other photographers at this location. And it is a great location! I love the warm colors of the leaves and the fall feeling in these photos. I was so happy I got a cute one of their little boy. He kept me running for it but had such a sweet smile and personality I had to try to get a good closeup!

I was able to check out a new place with this fun family. We drove to some orchards out in Nampa and I love the look the bright red apples give the pictures. You know you are in the boonies when there is a tractor crossing sign and every truck you pass has a boy driving with the girl sitting right next to him. Ha ha ha. I laugh because I live in Idaho and this is the country life I love. Enjoy the pictures and thanks again for asking me to try out this new place!

Please add $.55/mile for anything past 15 miles up to 30 miles.
-Online gallery to choose 10 web images to be put on CD
-3 high resolution images with print release on CD
-PLUS a customizable Christmas card with your favorite image on CD

Hurry to book your session! Sessions start the week of November 28th and end December 10th between 4 and 4:30 PM.

Eyelashes

We were at Linder Farms the other weekend and went to see the petting zoo animals. I couldn't believe how long the eyelashes were on this Zebra and thought I would take a pic. I would love longer eyelashes. Maybe not this long, but more would be nice :)

I took this family's pictures when I first started out. It is crazy how fast time flies and how much their kids have grown! This family was not unusual in the fact that when I photograph families and kids, the kids always give me a run for my money. They keep me on my toes, but I still try to get shots of their personalities amongst all the running. Little A. showed me her personality and liked to sing a song about a dinosaur, or was it a monster? Hmm... it was a cute song nonetheless and it made her smile and show her personality. I was able to take these pictures for a beautiful senior. She made my job SO EASY and fun! I got to explore and try out a couple of different places/poses. The whole time I was editing, I kept saying, "Oh I like that one!", and "Oooh! The sun is perfect in this one!" I was pretty excited so many turned out so great for her. Thanks for the fun time!

Color Palette Generator

Are you great at picking contrasting colors to wear or colors to paint/decorate your house? I am NOT. Call me "Plain Jane" because I have a hard time mixing bright colors. But, pictures are so fun to look at and so much more interesting if there are bright colors, right? So, if you are like me and can't figure out what colors to wear for your family photo shoot... well, here is a great thing for you . It is a color palette generator! If you have a color you like, find a picture on the internet with that color, right click and copy the image location or URL and paste it onto this site. It will generate colors for you that will work well together! Problem solved!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge- {A Touch of Sun}

There are so many photo challenges going around right now. I decided to bite the bullet and do this one. I took this senior out last week for some shots and was completely giddy while I was taking them. You know when you are taking a picture of a beautiful person, the lighting is just right and you find some great places to take the pics? Well, it happened this time. It was probably one of the easiest shoots I have done because she has so much personality and it showed through in the pictures and I didn't even have to tell her how to pose or when to smile or look serious! I was so excited/nervous to do pictures for this wedding and reception. It was my first one, but I think the pictures turned out pretty good for the most part and I figured they would, seeing how great these two looked in their engagements that I took a little while back. I learned a lot while doing it and had some fun with it! C. looked gorgeous in her dress and S. was looking quite sophisticated in his tux. And I love the one of C. and her Mom. So sweet! She said that grapes come in bunches and since they were twins, gave them these hats. I thought that was so cute! Good thing I got a picture of them with their hats! So cute! Enjoy!

My sweet baby girl is 6 months old today! Can't believe time has flown by so quickly. She has 2 teeth now, and is working on more, as evidenced by her chewing on her finger in the picture below! She is a little stubborn, smarty pants already. She has figured out that a loud, piercing shriek will get attention from everyone in the room! She is eating more and more solid foods all the time, smiles and laughs at her siblings, sleeps through the night and has figured out how to move herself around in circles and scoots herself around on her tummy. She will be crawling before we know it!

The other night I took my oldest daughter out for some pics. Since her baby sister was born, she doesn't get many pics of just her. She had also taken a nap that day and so was not going to bed anytime soon, so I decided to spend some time with her. Here is my Ma (Ma is the nickname her brother gave her when he was little since he couldn't say her name! It has just stuck!).

I just love bridges, among many other things! But find a bridge, an old barn, anything antiquey and vintage, and I would take a picture of it. Here is a bridge I really like in Eagle. I love how the sun shines through, how there is a very strong feeling in the architecture and the connections of all of the material. Does that make sense to anyone but me? Well, a blog I follow sometimes was doing a 52 week photo project and one of the last ones was titled "Fusion". I think that this bridge fits that title very well.

Our little one is getting big. She is 3 months old now! It is crazy how quickly time flies. I had fun taking a few pics of her until she decided she was done. I thought she looked cute in them, but then again, I am pretty biased! And just look at those delicious rolls! I could just eat her up!!

My Family Pictures

I attempted my first shoot with a tripod and my own family. It was really cold, started snowing and the kids weren't happy (as shown by our littlest one screaming!) I was able to snap 2 family pictures, and both of them had our second one's face covered by Grandpa's cowboy hats we borrowed. It was fun to get a family picture done anyway. It had been way too long. Better luck next time is what they say, right?

I was able to take some pics for my friend Halie. We both lived in Texas while we were growing up and both ended up here in Idaho. What are the chances?!
